I am Buddy
-
Sybille has known me since December 2020.
-
I am a boy, born approx January 2015.
-
One day, I suddenly collapsed on the street with strange neurological symptoms. The vet said I had suffered a stroke. I had no reflexes left and lay there as if in a deep sleep.
-
It took endless patience and training from Sybille to slowly bring me back to life. I could eat and drink on my own, but I couldn’t stand up and I couldn’t walk.
-
For two years I lived like this with a friend who had known me from the street. Eventually, Sybille took me in, thinking I might never truly “come back.” The vet wanted to let me go.
-
But I gathered all my strength to say: No, I don’t want that.
Sybille trained me. Three years after my stroke, I was able to walk on my own again. And two more years later, I finally learned to get up by myself. -
I still live a little in my own world — but when my friends are around, I come to the surface. I love sniffing, I love treats, I love walking along the beach or wandering through my beautiful garden.
-
Sybille says every single day that I am her greatest miracle.
-
Buddy’s story is like a fairytale — and the best proof that you should never, ever give up. He is a wonderful soul.

Adopted and MDHF member since June 2022.
